I found this same stove at Chicago's "Think Small" next to Blum animal hospital's parking lot for a good deal less money and no shipping, but the product itself is just stunning. Gorgeous. In answer to your question, yes, the doors all open, and even latch closed as they should. It's all solid metal, and the porcelain bits are not simply glued onto the doors, they are strapped in by the brass hi-lights circling the doors. The backpiece is glued on, and partly supported by the overhead baker's rack. The backpiece and baker's rack are separate pieces.
As with anything this expensive, it's not a small child's toy. More of a grown-ups dream dollhouse she wanted as a girl.
Incidentally, I also got the best price I could find at Think Small for VERY high quality "Real Good Toys" brand dollhouse kits (meaning, unassembled); as well as very fair pricing for the bits and odds and ends. I was impressed to find out they have been there many years and I never knew it. They also build dollhouses, and will help you customize yours; either from a sturdy kit (same price as realgoodtoys.com w/o shipping), help you wire it up for lighting, and even make a perfect replica of your own house! Please beware of "pretty but cheaply made" and cheap components dollhouses. You will get what you pay for.
