Kids Authority Life Like Mega Track set , Slot car racing set - 40 ft of track Review

Ordered this in the hopes to keep my 8 & 9 year old cousins entertained while they were visiting. After spending hours the night before setting it up I was sad to find numerous problems. 1) The cars provided were different than pictured and although my husband tried several times, they could not make it through the loop (just fell out). 2) The power supply provided was less voltage than the connection called for (probably one of the main reasons for the cars not working in the loop). 3) Parts were missing including some of the directions, leaving me to use the box picture to try and figure out what goes where and what was missing. 4) Some of the track already had rust. 5) The kit provided plastic pieces to hold track together but the loosest tracks couldn't use those parts (at the loops) because they were different sizes than the surrounding track and would continue to come apart.
Overall for the money the set costs I was very disappointed in what I received. Plus since it would not work I had to spend more time cleaning it up and hiding it so I wouldn't have to explain why my cousins couldn't play with it the next day.
On the good side, Amazon was very good about returning the kit since it was missing parts and not functional. It made the experience less miserable than it could have been.
