Ours had the outermost piece of wood and the second largest piece of wood warped at the ends, or rather it just wasn't cut right to start with maybe. But the result was you couldn't pick the top piece up vertically, you could only slide it out horizontally, and it would be a little lodged against the second largest piece, as they scraped each other at the bottom. A little unsatisfying since the 'stacking' is the appeal to this toy.It's just not very hard wood, so I guess it warps easily. Maybe this was just ours that had this unfortunate problem.
The colours are beautiful. The dyes scratch easily, and will get dirty and mar. But they still look nice enough.
