The concept of a lifelike dollhouse was a bit foreign to our toddler, but soon enough, her Fisher-Price Little People moved in; and both big and small versions meshed well with the furniture. Then the Asian family with baby and nursery decided to eat and sleep outdoors. Then the kitchen was converted into a garage with a stop sign to mark the end of the parking spot -- which we took to mean that she wanted our car back in the garage as she had often mentioned. Maybe any dollhouse would have done the job of allowing the child to express herself but this one is great because it is open on all sides, and raises discussions about conservation. Although well-designed and built, this toy is probably more appropriate for children who are willing to be gentle with their toys.
