I've given these as gifts multiple times. They're inexpensive so you can buy it as a just because and they're also great as a bday, xmas... gift because they will use it over and over again. You can buy them for 6mo old or for a 2y/o they love it. The 'house' for them is a bit pricey so let the parent buy that :-)
