Gingerbread Dollhouse by Kidkraft Review

Pros:
-The house is the perfect size... not too big, not too small... just right
-Dolls are really cute- kind of folksy looking... almost like vintage dolls- very cute!
-Love the design of the furniture... perfect chunky size for toddler hands too
-Color of the house and interior walls is also perfect- not boring like a lot of the other dollhouses out there
-Wonderful details on the outside of the house... front door also opens and closes
-I like how the house closes up... to keep everything put away at the end of the day
-It doesn't take up a lot of room and you can have it against a wall
-Nice enough to have out in your living room... almost looks like a piece of furniture... not cheap and plastic looking
Cons:
-Although the instructions were really good and all the hardware was there.. it did take me about 3 hours to put it together (however I'm not that handy and my husband could of probably had it assembled much faster)
-I don't understand why the bolts in the front aren't painted the color of the house. They took the time to paint all the other screws to match the walls and didn't for the front bolts- which are the most obvious. I think a little pastel paint on this should do the trick though.. and help them blend in more
-The walls have paper basically glued to the mdf wood and I can tell it's already starting to peel on some corners- so this means it's probably not going to wear too well over time.
-The top hinge for the roof needs to be harder to move so the roof can't slam down on tiny fingers- probably going to put some felt stickies on the corners to help alleviate this concern.
Overall I'm happy with this dollhouse... I think for the money it's a great deal! Any little girl would be thrilled to get this.
