Corolle Les Classiques Classic 14" Baby Doll (Bébé Charmeur) Review

I bought this Bebe Charmeur doll for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loves it, and was playing with it before I got it out of the box. My 4 year old son was actually very taken with it as well, and asked for a doll for the first time in his life! Bebe Charmeur seems like a quality product. It is not too heavy and not too light, it has a weighted bottom so that it can sit up, the eyes open and close smoothly, etc. Most of the accessories are already lost, of course, but my daughter gets a kick out of making this doll suck her thumb and go "night-night." She sleeps with it and wants to take it everywhere. I decided on this particular brand after looking for the safest doll possible that is still a vinyl doll. My daughter is really drawn to the look of these dolls and didn't have one. This doll, while made in China, complies with both U.S. and European safety standards (it is marked as such on the box and carries the EC stamp). I am aware that there is some risk with all vinyl dolls, but my hope is that this one is as safe as they come. The Corolle dolls are pricier than I would like, but I wanted something durable and safe. My only quibble is that it is oh so PINK! I am not a huge fan of pink, but of course half the fun of having a doll is changing her clothes! We'll just have to make some new outfits for "Mimi Baby," as my daughter calls her.
