Strawberry Villa Review

When each of my daughters turned 5, this was their "Wow" gift. I looked at a lot of doll houses and settled on these for several reasons.
1. They were outgrowing their Little People, but I wasn't really ready to do the "Barbie" thing. These sweet houses are a great compromise.
2. The Playmobil doll house rooms/people/accessories fit perfectly into these houses. I love Playmobil because of its quality and the fact that it's not made in China.
3. Relatively easy assembly. There are window boxes under each of the side windows. These have pegs on the bottom that fit through holes in the first and second floors. I put the whole thing together in about 20 minutes. The hardest part is attaching the front two panels. You have to fit metal pieces over the top/bottom of each panel, then screw them in with a Phillips head screwdriver. When I did this on my older daughter's doll house (she has the Butterfly House) I didn't get them exactly level and so her front panel is often ajar. When I did it for my second daughter's (Strawberry Villa), I had the benefit of experience and I got the screws in dead on and the doors sit perfectly closed.
4. The inside of the houses are all identical. The only difference is the outside styling. This was important to me, since I was buying one for each girl, and I didn't want "too much variation."
5. They're a great size for bedrooms. They fit nicely in a corner or against a wall. They're light enough to pick up and vacuum under when I need to.
6. They're NOT plastic. For something to store in a bedroom, these have more the look of "furniture" than "toy" which I think looks nicer.
Are they pricey? Yes. Although I bought both of mine at a substantial discount from the retail price. For both I watched them for a little while on Amazon, and then when I saw a great price, I pounced. However, I think you get your "bang for your buck" because they are truly darling; won't look "babyish" when my daughters are a bit older; and work so well with the Playmobil.
