GeoTrax City Lights Super Set Review

We bought this set for my son's 3rd birthday (though I paid half the price at toys-r-us) a few weeks ago and he can't stop playing with it. The fixtures are motion activated, so when your child drives through them or runs the train under them, they light up or make noise. Contrary to the box, this set is rather bulky when fully set up. We thought we could fit it on our coffee table, but we soon discovered that we had to move it to the floor. If you want to be extra creative and expand the track, you'll need to buy extra track piece sets. That is one of my complaints about the line in general: you'll buy extra buildings and sets later on, but hardly any of them come with track, so you'll have to purchase ADDITIONAL track sets just to accomodate your new pieces. The track pieces snap together easily and in roughly 15 minutes or so you'll be up and running. Be forewarned though, if you want all the bells and whistles, the set takes about 20 batteries in all of its motorized and light up parts. If you only want to start with this set, it contains everything you need: a handful of cars, a motorized train, enough track to connnect all the parts, and lots of room for creativity.
If you have the space and your child loves cars and trains, then I would highly recommend this set, though, as I said earlier, I would buy it from toys-r-us, since I paid 99.95. You might end up enjoying it more than your child does.
